Washington seeing a steep decline in deaths due to accidents

The state of Washington's Department of Transportation (DOT) is doing its best to prevent car accidents by reducing traffic congestion, preserving the highway and roadway infrastructure and generally promoting safe driving. This takes vigilance and a lot of effort. It seems that the effort is worth it, though, because this state has seen a big decline in deaths due to traffic collisions.

The traffic fatality rates are among the lowest in the United States. Washington DOT says that they aren't done yet. There is still much left to do. They say that the next push toward safety will be highway improvements that will play a key role in safety. The authorities are committed to further reducing crashes and lowering risks for drivers.

They are naming the new movement "Target Zero." The DOT is working with other agencies and departments, such as the Washington Highway Patrol and local police departments, in order to achieve the goal that has been set. There are several projects that DOT is working on to ensure that the roads are as safe as possible. They are widening some roads, putting in stop lights in others and replacing interchanges at other sites around the state.

The Washington DOT Traffic Operations Division is in charge of developing and managing programs that prevent accidents from occurring. They have come up with several innovative ways of keeping this state's families safe. New traffic barriers, rumble strips and other highway features are just a part of what they are doing on your behalf.

With all this, you probably are thinking that the accident that you were involved in was a fluke. You have been hit by another car and you are injured, hurt and missing work. You wonder how you will be able to pay these steep medical bills. Don't worry, there is a way though with legal advocacy.
