Car accident in Washington caused by alcohol

On Behalf of | Jul 15, 2014 | Car Accidents

Alcohol should never be a partner to driving. It never ends well and sometimes involves serious injury. Many of those hurt are innocent victims and have family members who are often left with medical bills. That, coupled with the lost wages from the hurt family member, have much less left in the bank to pay bills. This is nothing compared to the emotional toll it can take.

In SeaTac, Washington, a suburb of Seattle, Washington, a head-on collision occurred that was possibly due to someone driving under the influence. The two-car accident was the cause of a highway closure that happened on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at approximately 7:30 a.m. The car accident was the cause of a traffic snarl. It closed down South 188th Street located between 16th Drive and Des Moines Memorial Drive for a long period of time.

One driver, a 22-year-old, is in critical condition. He was driving a red Nissan. A reporter on the scene said that he saw beer bottles and cans in his car out in the open after the accident occurred. The other driver, a 42-year-old, was also in critical condition. He was driving a silver Subaru. This comes from a Seattle police report.

The person driving the Nissan was allegedly driving under the influence and was said to be speeding when he went across the white line of the road and struck the Subaru. This was said to be the second occurrence of someone causing an accident that day because of alcohol.

Both men were taken to the Haborview hospital. They reported that the 42-year-old was upgraded to serious condition later that afternoon. It is unbearable that a member of your family or a dear friend should suffer because of someone else’s negligence and uncaring attitude. To be driving under the influence of alcohol is a serious charge and causing a car accident is unbearable for those who are victims. If you have suffered this type of car accident, you may want to talk to a professional who can be by your side.
