In a tragic car accident, a 65-year-old man was killed by a driver who crossed the center line of the highway and struck his car. He was on his way to work at 5:30 a.m.
The accident occurred on Highway 20 just east of Sedro-Woolley, Washington. A suspected drunken driver crossed the centerline of the highway and killed him as well as two of the other vehicle’s passengers.
The two victims in the other car were a 21-year-old female from Bellingham, Washington, and a 23-year-old female from Sedro-Whoolley, Washington. An additional two passengers were injured in the car accident and they were a 19-year-old man of Mount Vernon, Washington, and a 22-year-old man from Burlington, Washington. This comes from the police report issued recently.
The police state that they could smell alcohol at the car accident site and found an empty beer can in the car. The driver who caused the accident has a prior DUI on his record. The 22-year-old has multiple convictions that include drugs, theft and domestic violence.
When the 65-year-old’s wife was rushing to the hospital to see him, a road block was in place that caused her to take a different and longer route to the hospital. She did not make it to see him one last time; he died before she could reach him.
The 65-year-old man and his wife were people of faith and believe that everything happens for a reason, even tragedies.
He was a very likable person to know who had a penchant for making and flying kites. He was from Concrete, Washington, and the place at which he was employed was quite a distance from his home. He worked for an oil refinery in Anacortes, Washington.
He had put off retiring for a year although he and his wife were so looking forward to relocating to Oregon so that they could be close to their daughter who was planning to start a family.
When a loved one is hurt or killed in an accident, there is almost no consolation. Talking to a professional who can help you get reimbursed for the medical bills and lost wages can provide a sense of justice in a very sad situation.
