3 injured, 1 child dead after wrong-way car accident

A young child has become the fatal victim of a recent car crash in Washington. The wrong-way car accident also resulted in injuries to three others. A woman and two small children were in the car that was struck and the driver was the sole person in the other vehicle.

The 6-year-old passenger died as a result of crash. His 10-year-old cousin was transported to a local hospital before being flown to another medical facility for further treatment. It was reported that he had stomach injuries, which were likely caused from the tightening of the seat belt.

The 32-year-old woman was transported to a hospital locally and the extent of her injuries is currently unknown. The driver of the other vehicle was 84 years of age. He was taken to the local hospital for his injuries, although it was unclear as to how severe his injuries were. A third vehicle was involved, but the driver of that vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

As of right now, it is not known whether the man was under the influence. The accident is under investigation to determine its exact cause. This is information that the car accident victims may wish to have at their disposal and would prove to be helpful should they decide to take legal action against the wrong-way driver.

Under Washington law, car accident victims and families of deceased car accident victims have a right to pursue legal action in order to recover compensatory damages. One would do well to ensure their rights are fully protected in a court of law as they move toward a successful resolution of the case. Although a monetary settlement will not bring the young boy back or reverse the injuries and damage that have already been done, it may help reduce the overall financial toll one might experience after such an incident.
